So updates are way over due! It's been a crazy year so far this year. I recently got married to my wonderful wife Lee! We went on
our honeymoon in New Orleans and had a blast! I love you sweetie! On to fishing; I am proud to say I have joined the Crystal Mountain
Water team! They will be my official sponsor for the 2011 season. I will have more exciting info on this venture soon. I know we will
be doing alot of promotions next year and I am really looking forward to it. This has been the toughest year for me so far as
a professional angler. Each tournament this year year has been a challenge. Between crazy weather conditions and working at the golf
course I just haven't been able to put it all together. It seems like the days I had set aside for practice it was always raining
or the wind blew me off the lake, but that is no excuse for not locating the fish. I have really been working on using my electronics
more in the last 2 months to locate fish and find productive areas. It is a challenge but so far I have done fairly well. Most of
my practice has been on Lake Guntersville where I have been locating fish out deep. Deep is always relative to the fishery that you
are on for Guntersville that is around 25'. I have watched how the main river ledges have been getting beat up constantantly so I
have focused my attention on secondary channels and ditches. I have found areas that I have never seen a boat around that have been
highly productive and are producing quality fish. My brother Denton came down before the wedding and fished with me and we caught
51 off of one spot in a short morning trip. Most of these areas just get overlooked. There are no channel markers to tell you
that you are on the channel or anything and you have to use your electronics to locate these areas. My next event will be on
Guntersville so I knoiw I will be prepared for this one.
On another note I will be guiding on Guntersville the rest of this year on
my days off. So if you are interested in taking a trip please e-mail me at
Landon@LandonLomax.com I am also working on a newsletter
to be sent out monthly to keep you up to date on the Big "G" so if you would like to be put on my mailing list e-mail me and put newsletter
in the topic. Even if I have your e-mail address please send it to me again so that I can make sure I have you on the list.
Thanks
again to all my sponsors for their continued support and I look forward to keeping everyone up to date on the upcoming adventures!
This is the 9 lb fish caught during practice on Guntersville. Wish I could have saved this one for the tournament!
